Cleansing the mirror of my heart with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I sing the pure glory of Sri Raghuvara, bestower of the four fruits of life.

Forty sacred verses by Goswami Tulsidas in praise of Pavanasuta — here rendered in five tongues, the way temple walls have carried them for centuries.

Knowing my body devoid of intelligence, I remember the Son of the Wind. Grant me strength, wisdom and knowledge; remove all my sorrows and blemishes.
Victory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtue! Victory to the Lord of monkeys, illuminator of the three worlds!
Messenger of Rama, abode of matchless strength; Known as the son of Anjani and the son of the Wind.
Great hero, mighty as a thunderbolt, body strong as a diamond; Dispeller of evil thought, companion of the wise.
Golden-hued, adorned in fine attire, With earrings in your ears and curly locks of hair.
In your hands shine the thunderbolt and the banner; A sacred thread of munja grass graces your shoulder.
Son of Shiva, joy of Kesari, Your radiance and valor are revered by all the world.
Learned, virtuous and exceedingly clever, Ever eager to perform the works of Rama.
You delight in hearing the Lord's exploits; Rama, Lakshmana and Sita dwell within your heart.
Assuming a minute form you appeared to Sita; In fearsome form you set Lanka ablaze.
In a colossal form you slew the demons, And accomplished all the tasks of Ramachandra.
You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshmana; Sri Raghuveer joyfully embraced you to his heart.
The Lord of the Raghus praised you greatly: "You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata."
"A thousand mouths sing your glories," — saying thus, Sripati (Rama) drew you close into his embrace.
Sanaka and the sages, Brahma and the great rishis, Narada, Saraswati and Shesha (the lord of serpents)—
Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of the directions— How can poets and scholars adequately describe your glory?
You did a great service to Sugriva, Uniting him with Rama and restoring his throne.
Vibhishana heeded your counsel, And became the king of Lanka—as all the world knows.
The sun, thousands of yojanas away, You swallowed, thinking it a sweet ripe fruit.
Holding the Lord's ring in your mouth, You leapt across the ocean—no wonder at all.
All the difficult tasks of this world Become easy by your grace.
You stand as guardian at Rama's door; None may enter without your leave.
All joys are found in your refuge; With you as protector, there is fear of none.
You alone can contain your own splendor; At your roar the three worlds tremble.
Ghosts and goblins dare not come near When one chants the name of Mahaveer.
All diseases vanish, all pains depart, When one constantly chants "brave Hanuman."
Hanuman liberates from every calamity Whoever meditates on him in thought, word and deed.
Rama, the ascetic king, is sovereign over all; And all his tasks were accomplished by you.
Whoever brings any wish to you Receives boundless fruit in this life.
Your glory pervades all four ages; It is renowned, lighting up the world.
You are the protector of saints and sages, Destroyer of demons, beloved of Rama.
Bestower of the eight siddhis and nine treasures— Such a boon was granted you by Mother Janaki.
The elixir of Rama's name is yours to give; You remain forever the servant of Raghupati.
By singing your praise, one attains Rama, And forgets the sorrows of countless lifetimes.
At life's end one departs to Rama's abode, Where one is born and known as a devotee of Hari.
Even without holding other deities in mind, Serving Hanuman bestows every happiness.
Troubles are cut, all pains are erased, For whoever remembers the mighty Hanuman.
Victory, victory, victory to Hanuman, Lord! Bestow your grace upon me as a Guru would.
Whoever recites this a hundred times Is freed from bondage and gains supreme joy.
Whoever reads this Hanuman Chalisa Attains perfection—Shiva himself is witness.
Tulsidas is ever the servant of Hari— O Lord, take up your dwelling within my heart.
Son of the Wind, remover of troubles, embodiment of all that is auspicious— With Rama, Lakshmana and Sita, dwell in my heart, O king of gods.
